Making Pizza!

Our cooking workshop last week took a short trip to Italy! Students learned how to make pizza wtih special ingredients - do you remember what a zucchini is?

Erasmus in Oslo

This school year M Antonia, the English teacher and M Bel the school counselor went to Oslo to do a course for focusing and mediation in Primary schools. The course was also about the best possible way to learn a new language in schools. They can't wait to implement all the new information they learned in Oslo into our school!

Espinagada Morning

This morning groups of students learned how to make traditional Espinagada! 

Here is the recipe:
For the dough:
1 kg Flour
250 ml of oil
250 ml of water

For the filling:
1 large cauliflower
pork loin or eel 
salt

pepper

paprika 

Let´s begin:

1. cut the cabbage in julienne

2. Then, in a bowl we put the cabbage and add oil, salt, pepper and paprika

3.Stir well and let macerate

Prepare the dough

1.  In a bowl we put the oil, water, butter, a pinch of salt and we add the flour while kneading.

When the dough no longer sticks in the container and hands we will know that it is ready.

Knead the dough on a piece of onion paper giving me a rectangular shape, leaving on the four sides about ten centimeters of extra dough.

Once kneaded we put the marinated cabbage, the pork loin (previously salpimentado), the raisins and finally another layer of cabbage.

Fold the four sides of the dough together over the center of the filling, leaving the spine completely sealed.

Bake for 35 minutes at 180 °.

The week of Sant Antoni

Only 1 more day till Sant Antoni! During our English classes we have been doing a lot of activities for Sant Antoni. Look at the pictures and see all the fun crafts, songs and traditional foods we are making.
Tuesday we did a workshop from 9-11. Do you see your class? What workshops did you like best?

 

Sant Antoni T-shirts

Here we decorating our Sant Antoni t -shirts. Students brought in black and red shirts and used black or white paint to color in the demon. How many t-shirts with demons do you see in the photos?

Back to school!

We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break! Here at Tresorer Cladera we are ready to be back at school and preparing for Sant Antoni!

We will be including different activities surrounding Sant Antoni in our English classes.
Some of these activities will be:

 Arts & Crafts - making demon t-shirts and demon masks
Cooking workshops -  making traditional Mallorquin Espinagadas & other treats
Writing- writing traditional styled poems in English about Sant Antoni and the festivities
